The brit bat is the covenant ceremony that parallels the boy's brit milah. In this ceremony we welcome a new baby girl into the world with thanks and blessing and give her a Hebrew name.
Generally, we hold this ceremony one month after the baby is born, rather than the eight days of the boy's brit milah. However, since this ceremony is a modern invention, there is no time set for the ceremony.

Cantor Barbra walked us through the ceremony in advance, meeting with us at our home to discuss it in detail the week before. She showed up early the day of the ceremo ny, waited patiently for our late arriving guests, and sang beautifully, incorporating everything we had asked into the ceremony flawlessly. She even stayed for a while after to discuss the meaning of the ceremony with any guests who had questions. We were very happy with the service she provided.
