My son, Yarden Mach, took bar mitzvah lessons with Cantor Barbra, as she prepared him for the big day. The lessons were great. My son knew what to practice and how. Barbra supplied all the materials and was very clear regarding the assignments for the lessons. My son, was able to recite the blessings and his parasha very well because of her guidance. In addition, Barbra led a beautiful and meaningful ceremony on the day of the bar mitzvah. It was a wonderful experience that we will never forget. I would highly recommend to use Barbra's services.

Paul and I want to thank you so much for a beautiful bar mitzvah service that you officiated. Our son had a few obstacles (namely that he had 7 weeks in which to prepare) that made preparing him a bit challenging. Truthfully, I had some anxieties as to how much he would be able to learn but I was truly impressed with what you were able to teach Alex. He soaked it up and simply needed the right teacher. Correct guidance and support through the process. Yes, Alex worked hard but you provided him with the teachings and the encouragement that he could do it and he did! We are so grateful to you for having him fully prepared for his big day. The service was beautiful and we will always be indebted to you for getting him where he needed to be.

First, I must say that you have a lovely voice and I very much enjoyed listening to you sing at my son Jake's Bar Mitzvah. You sing the prayers perfectly, and it really brings life to the ceremony. Also, you did such a wonderful job with Jake, and were always so patient with him. Ultimately, he did an excellent job with less preparation than most kids have for their Bar Mitzvah. I know a big factor in his success is your wonderful teaching and encouragement. I will surely recommend you to anyone who is looking to find a great cantor, teacher, or both!

I can’t imagine the difficulty of teaching a student who does not know any Hebrew much less having them read from the Torah, but you managed to do that with Matthew with such ease. Our daughter Hayley studied with Cantor Barbra for approximately 18 months before her bat mitzvah. Barbra did a wonderful job teaching Hayley Hebrew and Jewish history. In addition, Barbra was always reliable, flexible, and committed to teaching . As parents, Barbra's flexibility and organization made the process very easy for us. She obtained the necessary reading/study materials, sent email homework updates, and even skyped a few sessions when Hayley wasn't available. Despite the fact that Hayley didn't attend formal Hebrew school she learned a tremendous amount. We don't feel she missed out on anything by having tutoring sessions with Cantor Barbra at home rather than in a class at a temple. Barbra performed a beautiful bat mitzvah service at our house and Hayley did beautifully. Both received many compliments after the service. If Hayley weren't our last child we would definitely use Barbra again. We highly recommend her.
